Build is the result of a development partnership between Red Bend
Software and InstallShield, allowing for a seamless integration
between the two products. vBuild is easily integrated into the
Create-Deploy-Maintain development cycle, providing your with the
benefits of reduced bandwidth costs, faster roll-outs, fewer
abandoned downloads, and improved customer satisfaction.
Create vBuild packages with Minimum Effort
To use vBuild, import ready-to-install setups of your product,
including patches and hot-fixes. Do it only once - all information is
saved in the vBuild project to be reused for subsequent releases.
Version information is extracted automatically, even from
self-extracting executable setups. Match each version to the
preceding one and proceed to build packages. No programming or
repackaging activity required, and your setup logic remains
unchanged.
Deploy vBuild Packages - No Hassle, Minimal Downloads, Maximum
Reliability.
vBuild packages have the same structure as your original setups and
are deployed and installed in exactly the same way. vBuild engine
is integrated into InstallScript installation process and is
invoked automatically to create the new version files. When the
single Online package is deployed, only the necessary files are
downloaded for the particular end-user configuration and component
choice. If an old version file is missing, a complete new-version
file is downloaded, so Online updates always succeed.
Maintain vBuild Packages - a Perfect Fit into Product Lifecycle
vBuild fits right into the update-compile-package-test cycle. After
first creating a new version setup, import it into vBuild as the
target version. From that moment on, whenever the setup logic or
the product files are updated, vBuild automatically detects the
change and re-imports the updated setup. With the smart Re-import
feature, all project information including manual matching and
more, is preserved and applied. This keeps your vBuild project -and
vBuild packages - continuously synchronized with your InstallShield
media - no additional work required. And with size vs. speed
optimization you can build fast during development then switch to
