Crack Method For: Norton LiveUpdate Products

by: ReaL|sTy

Release Date: 09/01/2002

url: http://www.symantec.com

Protection: Time Limit

Notes: the programs that have the liveupdate service actually as i know are the Norton Internet Security Programs and its differents versions and categories also The Norton Antivirus... after you've install any of those products in your system they made some files configurations with settings, path, date, also your name.....

those files are located in your windows folder in some subdirectories that i will mention here....those directories and files are:

C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Datos de programa\Symantec\LiveSubscribe

there is the File named: Catalog.liv that's the file that control the date of the liveupdate suscribe expiration

that mentioned path is for Windows(Spanish version) for english the path might be this one:

C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe

also there is in here:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec\Shared

the files: MyProfile.UserProfile & Options.VcPref

and another subdirectory named:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec\Shared\Sessions

to recover your 360 days all you will have to do.. is uninstall first any of the Norton programs with the expired liveupdate service, then make sure any directory was delete after uninstalling any of them. for example.. after uninstalling the Norton Internet Security.. the folder from the program files was deleted... but for some reason it leaves the directory located here:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec\Norton Internet Security Professional

that's the directory which contain the update files.. the uninstaller deletes all the update files..but why it doesn't delete the entire directory??? make sence.. the directory contains the date.. umhhhh :) maybe when you're installing again the Internet Security program, the installer ,will read any older files or directories and will configured the file: Catalog.liv as expired again

make sure after uninstall NAV that this folder will be gone as well:

C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Datos de programa\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus
or: C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus

it contents configurations files for NAV.

you can't install any of the norton products over another old version even if they're the same version. you will have to uninstall any of them before reinstalling again.. you might have the installer in a CD or your hard drive that's up to you.. if you want to recover your 360 days back. this method worked for me for Internet Security Pro 2002 after some test of this programs behaviour.

uninstall any of them, reboot, got to the mentioned directories and delete the mentioned files.. and in this directory:

C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Symantec\Shared\Sessions

Copy the file Cleaner.bat and run it once from there after that you can delete it. if you got NAV & NIS installed try applying this method by just unistalling one of them to see what happends..if don't work then uninstall both then reboot, make sure there are no directories containing NAV or NIS Files and proceed to install, after the installation has finished Press Skip For the Registration Part...why install again?? it is neccesary ..bacause those files can't be replaced or modified and the program made those files again Specially the: Catalog.liv that contains the expiration date..it just worked for me in that way. maybe there's another way... if there is..then let me know :) after you've install any of them the program installers will made those files again with fresh info. and you'll have the 360 days back!

make sure too delete the files not before uninstalling the program, do it after.! and shutdown any of them, use Ctrl+Alt+Del then end Task if neccesary.

For Windows Xp as i heard from someone the directories i have mentioned might or could be this ones:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Symantec\Shared\

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe\

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Symantec\Shared\Sessions

Good luck and enjoy!! :)

i've explain this very well! i'll hope yout got the point because i don't want any emails requesting or asking nothing.. if you decided to email for questions.. then you will be ignored. use this information at your own risk.. there's not supports for cracks! so don't bother!and get lost!
