The idea of finding the perfect cutting solution using a computer has
been around for a long time. Such systems are sometimes used by
stockholders on behalf of their clients to produce an economic
cutting list. Cutting Schedule has been designed as an affordable
piece of software that will quickly pay for itself - quite probably
the first time it is used.
This programme whilst perhaps not as sophisticated as some, works by
assuming a logical approach to the problem and can produce a fairly
quick result and with user intervention different combinations can be
found. It is also easy to understand and use. The output lists each
cut bar to be cut from a stock bar so the person at the saw can just
cross off each beam as it is cut which is hopefully what you need.
Whilst the programme was primarily designed with steel fabrication in
mind there is no reason why it should not be used within other
industries.
