Todays powerful software and hardware programs routinely place
temporary files on your computer's hard drive during the installation
process and while you are using the program. Most of the programs
attempt to cleanup after themselves, but invariably some temporary
files are overlooked.
When you use the Internet, your browser (i.e., Microsoft Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator, etc.) leaves copies of the visited web
pages, cookies, and associated web graphics on your hard drive.
Likewise, most of the new, sophisticated printers place temporary print
que files on your hard drive during the printing process. These
temporary files are routinely removed when the printer is finished,
however, when you interrupt the print process, some of the temporary
print que files remain on your hard drive.
As you can imagine, after a short period of use, the accumulation of
temporary files can severely limit the storage space on your hard
